Going for the Dunk

Left handed

Feb 26 2011

Saturday was a fun day, we had lots of family time!!!!!! These are my favorite memories, the ones that are not extra special, but that just happen day to day. I love my guys, and can not believe that I am going to be a Momma to 2 boys. Most of you know I am not a sporty girl. (well that is an understatement) I am really really clumsy and so uncoordinated with any kind of ball, bat, club (except with putt putt).......you get the idea. We keep hoping that Noah got Drew's athletic ability, but even if he didn't he is pretty fun to watch these days.

Waiting patiently for Daddy to finish emailing so he can play.

Okay Dad hurry up.

Really C'mon.

20 weeks

Feb 21 2011

Well Monday was 20 weeks pregnant with Luke but I am late in posting this. I am working on my sleeping these days as I know that it will sooner than later come to an end. We are getting to that point in pregnancy where it becomes uncomfortable to sleep, to turn over, and you constantly wake up during the night (for no reason at all).

From babycenter.com:
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

It is hard to think that this little guy is the size of a banana. He is moving around and I can sometimes put my hand on my belly to feel him and he will kick right back at me. He is not as crazy busy as I remember Noah being but we will see how much momentum he will pick up in the coming days.

Noah as I said in my previous posts, has just been fun to be around lately. He just wants to be right next to you, learning, singing, and talking to you. He is sleeping so well, and beginning to really love and see his bed as a good place to be by himself. This great because we will be trying to move him to the big boy bed soon, and that will be an adjustment. We are also trying our hand at Pottytraining. It is definitely a work in progress. The first day he went 8 times, the second day more like 6 (but we could tell he was getting tired of it, and it interrupted his play time), today well I better get in the bathroom with him right now!!!! We really need to make a play, because we now know he can poddy in the potty, but well I don't know what but.......

Here are Daddy and Noah reading: I love these special moments.

Windows down

We offically had a day when it was warm enough to put the windows down. We really did not think about it until we were out shopping at Crabtree Mall (for my birthday, and Noah showed his tail, so we had to leave and go home). On the way home we learned the reason he was so cranky, he was tired, and started to fall asleep (if he sleeps in the car it means we don't get a nap when we get home, it messes up the whole system), so we rolled the windows, and after a minute of waking up he really began to enjoy the wind in his hair.

Noah and Emily

Feb 21 2011

We have started having a visitor once a week. Emily Watts from across the street, let me just say, girls are so different. CALM, HAPPY, QUIET!!!! These things I hope to experience for myself one day, but until then, we can just have sweet little girls come to play. Noah is a little tenderhearted towards her. She started to cry, and I looked over at Noah and his little bottom lip started to quiver before breaking into full wail. Which only made Emily cry more.

Later he did steal some kisses.

He did pretty well showing her all his toys and sharing.

Pretty girl

It started off with a hug

Stealing a kiss

And on the nose

29 years young

My sweet boy helping with the cake

Feb 20 2011

Happy Birthday to me. Okay there I said it, I am getting older. While I was in class all day on Saturday my sweet husband and adorable son, prepared a special treat for me. They made me a cake. AND............drew coached Noah on how to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA, which he has never attempted before, and videoed it. Makes me just tear up thinking about Noah telling me Happy Birthday for the first time, and I get to revisit the video anytime I want. Here it is.

Feb 19 2011
So this weekend on top of having a 15 hour Old Testament class at Southeastern, we also had Entermissions going on at our church. Drew took off Friday so I could attend my class that lasted 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday night and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. (let me just say I was shocked that there was so much in the Old Testament that I had never heard, and I grew up in church) Starting Saturday night Drew picked me up from class and we headed over to church for our Slient Auction/Real Live Auction for Missions, complete with foods from around the world to sample.

It was a little bit hecktick as Noah (last year was small and we either held him, or let him play under the table) ran around the whole sanctuary with Drew or I running after him. I joked about bringing the carseat in and just strapping the boy to it.
It was funny at the time, but probably would have been a good idea. We ended up leaving early.

After all was said and done close to 28,000 was raised for Missions. Praise Him.

Noah lately

Feb 18 2011

We are so happy to report that neither I nor Noah got the FLU from daddy. We give God all the Glory for protecting us and keeping us healthy. We pretty much quarantined him to the bedroom. It actually did not take much work, he was exhausted and had to take off several days from work to recoup.

My little guy lately has just been a pleasure, it has been one of those times when you know that he is growing and changing right before your eyes. In days, he has developed such an imagination. He will stand taking on the phone (play phone), having this elborate conversation. Mostly from watching Momma and Daddy. He has decided to use all the words he knows and just jabbers tell us this and that.

He has decided to start using the poddy at random times. He will just come get us and take us to the bathroom. We started using M&M's to help this along and reward him when he goes. This is a work in progress.

Since Daddy has been better. Noah has decided that he makes a great horse. They gallop around the house at a moments notice. But that ole horse wears out before Noah has had enough riding.

He certainly is getting the hang of using his fork/spoon. I think we have a lefty for sure. At least with eating. I am getting better about letting him get dirty when he eats. Spaghetti was the ultimate test and I did wipe his mouth several times, along with covering my chair with a towel. He is so cute when he blows on his food because it is hot.

He is quite the independent little man now. Getting his jacket, socks, and shoes ready
when we get ready to leave for an outing. He is definitely cute when he tries to feed his BEBA whatever snack, meal, or juice he is also having. He says, "Babi juice," then holds the sippy cup to BEBA's mouth so he can get a good swallow. I love that he is learning to share even if it is with his stuffed bear lovey. He also puts "Babi" down for a nap, by throwing him over the crib railing and saying "night night."

Flu for Valentines Day

Feb 14 2011

Well Saturday night Drew started feeling really bad. He had to work this weekend. Saturday and Sunday mornings. SO he drug himself to work on Sunday, then he came home, lookied up his symptoms, and decided he had the FLU.

Well V-day he got up and headed to the Dr. After a couple hours in the clinic, he went to the pharmacy, with the diagnosis (just as he thought), Flu and acute bronchitis. And he sounds horrible. I feel so bad for him, he is just miserable. He will be up for an hour and have to go lay back down again, from being dizzy.

He has decided that the FLU is not nearly as bad a Malaria, but still pretty bad.

Mostly I feel horrible that Noah wants his Daddy. He just follows him around saying HOLD, HOLD, HOLD..... And Drew keeps telling him, "I am sick buddy, I love you but I can't hold you."

Later I was reading the story of the good Samaritan to Noah. And he looks at the guy on the page that was beat up and looking horrible and says, SICK, SICK, SICK. I just said yes he is buddy.

Noah and I celebrated V day, with goodies that Grana and Babu sent. Noah especially liked the Hershey's Kiss. He really did not understand the heart suckers that much (mostly because I have never let him have a sucker before) he tried to suck on the bottom like it was a straw.

Presents and Ice Cream

Feb 11 2011

Today was the last day to spend with Uncle Jeremy, after he toured Duke, we woke up from our naps to greet him. Drew was headed to work but right before he left we opened the door to find a present for Noah from Mimi.

Daddy and Noah opened it, and Noah was fascinated. A penguin pillow pet, valentine candy, and a new movie (which he like, Momma likes too). Thanks Mimi!!!

Then Momma, Noah, and Uncle J headed to one of our favorite places, GOODBERRY!! We had a few Reese's concretes and tried to warm up by sitting in the sun while we ate our treats.
