VA Snow

Jan 24 2013

The weather predicted SNOW, and well it came a day early.  I would much rather have snow than just plain ole cold weather.  The boys woke up and were thrilled when they looked out the window.

I was so cold with the wind whipping through.
We snapped a coulpe pics to remember our snow day by.

How much did we get? Well not enough to last till the next day.  Maybe an inch.

Noah has really excelled being in a classroom setting.  He loves story time, and usually goes right in and sits down to begin his day.  I love that he gets to learn about having a teacher, obeying among peers, and learning to be independent.
This was the next morning on the way to school.
After we picked them up Friday, Noah started this croupy cough.  So we went ahead and took him to the Dr..  He was tested for Strep (neg), and given a steroid.  So he had something along the lines of Croup but without any fever.

Transition

Jan 19-21 2013

We left NC headed to VA.  We stayed with some friends along the way so we could visit their fellowship who are really likeminded.  But as Sunday morning came, Noah woke up sick.  Drew ventured out while I stayed back with the boys.

This family was so sweet to host us even in our sickness.
We spent the next night in a hotel as I too, now endured the sickness.

And as we were due to arrive at the farm we were barely better.
The boys were so ready to be "home" and welcomed our new place.
We set out to meet the boys teachers.

Noah was in the white tigers class and he walked right in like he owned the place.  He absolutely loves his class and is thriving and doing well.
He quickly found the race track and got busy playing.
Luke's class is the Fennec Foxes.  And he will take a little more coaxing.  But he has had some really good days.  His teachers seem to take his cues for naps, and know how to distract him when he is upset.
Here he is having cay with the assistant teacher.

And the boys met Tom and Jerry the (rodents) some sort of gerbils.
Luke really likes them and says hello every morning.

Shorty's Hotdogs

Jan 18 2013

We stopped by one of our favorite places downtown to eat.  I am not sure how long Shorty's hotdogs has been in buisness but they sure have this old tyme feel.
We met some sweet friends that we had played with some throughout the week.  Logan and Noah play so well together and Brody and Luke well at this age they play around each other.
All 4 of our sweet ones on the couch.

Visiting the Akins

Jan 18 2013

When we first met Paul and Kari they had Micah and we didn't have kids yet.  I love seeing them periodically and sharing in our families growing.  Life changes, and moving, and new babies.

This is the pack thus far:
Jordan, Micah, Kai, Noah, and Luke

These 2 always tend to dress up, chase, and play well together.
There are the smiling faces.
Then this happened.  It was pretty funny watching how serious they were.

And my sweet friend (Kari), she is such a good Momma.
I love to keep up with her life and see how far God has brought each of us.

NC Snow

Jan 18 2013

We heard the night before that it might snow, and well it did, and I am sure it was pretty heavy.  But after some time snowing, the temp went back up and it rained on the newly fallen snow.
So in the morning, we had some snow which was packed down, and was mostly icy.
The boys of course thought it was SO COOL. And wanted to go out.
We slipped an slid a few times, and had a couple of falls.
Crunched around in the icy mess.
And then headed inside, it was COLD!!!!

Over to eat

Jan 17 2013

This guy.  Loves the Hairdryer.  And found both that I had hidden in the bathroom.  Grady is just amazed with them.  And my boys suddenly loved them too.  If one has something, it is currently the popular thing.
The Mangrums, sweet family, drove an hour to come and have dinner with us in Wake Forest (during the coming of impending snow).   I loved just getting to sit and talk with no other distractions.  Let the kids run wild playing with hairdryers and coming to the table only for the occasional bite to eat.
I will never get tired of sharing life with this friend.

Krispy Kreme

Jan 16 2013

Took the boys to get doughnuts this morning.  They loved getting to watch the glaze go over the hot doughnuts.  Our friend gave Noah a couple for a free doughnut but once we were in there we came home with a dozen and a half.
Tickled that they both have doughnuts.
Noah scarfed his down.
This boy at one doughnut hole, and then the second one he just sat there licking all the sugar off of it.  Making a mess, and then decided to eat it.
Checking out the varieties.
Seeing how it's done.

Marbles Museum

Jan 15 2013

Ashley and I met close to half way and took the boys to the Marbles Museum.
They had so much for them to do.
Grady took his dog and cat in for Dr. Luke for a check up.

Luke went to the stables to ride horses.
Noah prepared some lobster for his Momma.

Splash time on the sea of Cape Fear.
Then on the Submarine for the little ones.
 Love this pic of Grady.
 Pushing the emergency stop button.
Then on to the Pirate Ship.Walking the plank.
 Moping the deck.

 The telescope was Noah's favorite.

In a different part was all things medical.
Noah the ambulance driver.
 Luke has a owie.

The boys decide to take over driving.
 Noah the fire fighter.
Grady called for help.
