The Croup Saga Continues

Oct 29 2011

Lets just say that last night was a long one, at 5:00 a.m. on the dot Noah was up and his breathing was terrible. Drew took him out in the night air, in the bathroom with the shower running, and later that morning even made a make shift croup tent. The grandparents came over, brought breakfast, pj's, puzzles, toys, and things to distract our sick guy, but I finally took him in at around 10. He got a breathing treatment, a decadron shot, and 5 days worth of steriod meds. He was just pitiful. It unnerves you to no end to hear your child breathing (or hardly getting a breath) like that.

Here we are with the mask on. I thought this would be a struggle, and he would immediately want it off, but I guess he just felt so bad there was no struggle.

After the treatment and the shot, poor thing was so tired of working so hard to breath he wore himself out.

Sleeping on us has been a common sight these days. We just wash our hands in between, and take turns with one or the other.

1st Bites

Oct 28 2011

Luke tried his 1st bites of rice cereal today. He nurses and is still hungry in the mornings. He has been this way for a week or 2 and I have been trying to put it off. If he starts solid food that means he is growing up right. Well this Momma is not quite ready for that. He was so upset, but the moment I put the 1st bite in his mouth he was happy.

Croup???

Oct 26 2011

On Tuesday I took Luke to the Dr. He woke up with a horrible cough, if your a Momma for very long you will hear it and never forget what it sounds like. That barking seal cough. I knew it had to be croup, but really there is nothing besides, humidifer, lots of loving, and watching them carefully that you can do. But I took him in anyway, they tested him for RSV (which came back negative), and sent us home.

A couple of days later Noah ( who had it when he was little ) also had the same cough. Not as bad, but still pitiful, fever, and just plain irritable. This promised lots of snuggles, needy boys that had to be hydrated, fed, rested, and humidified. My work was cut out for me, and when Drew came home we played the game "Tag" your it.

But this week I did catch a sweet moment between the boys. Sitting watchin the Lion King together, holding hands, and looking cute. Luke then decided that he wanted to talk up a storm so I got some video of that little chatter box.

Checking out his feet.

Game Day

Oct 22 2011

Ole Miss v. Arkansas. Yes we did lose, again. But today I remembered a time long ago where Drew took me on a date to our 1st Ole Miss game together. Where we stood the entire game (in heels, crazy I know), cheered, talked, and stood some more. That game lasted 7 (yes 7) overtimes. That was 2001, 10 years ago. It was so fun to think of all the places and memories me and that man I love have shared.

Today we shared time together with our 2nd born, Luke. And we shared in his 1st game. I was to fun to be at the game, to be in the box (because it would be way to loud otherwise), and to cheer on the Rebs, but mostly as you can see below the day was about taking pictures of Luke. I mean really, this little guys is so cute in this outfit, red sweater, little blue shoes, and jeans........over kill maybe, but this Momma is proud.

And a special thanks to Dae Dae, Mimi, Grana, and Babu for all taking turns in keeping our Noah so safe and sound back in Brandon. I am kinda sad he didn't miss us at all though,..............at least he missed Luke.

Return to Oxford

Oct 21 2011

Drew and I haven't been to Oxford (where we went to college) in 2 years, when we took Noah to his first game. We took Luke to the game and to visit with Pops, Gigi, and Aunt Bryce. It was fun to see all that had changed and to remember when we lived in this city.

The Stadium

One of my favorite sites in the square, Square Books

We went to eat at SNACKBAR, it is a new place, they have tons of new places to eat than when we were there. It was really good. And a fun atmosphere.

YES these are oysters, and NO I had never eaten one.

Yes they did talk me into to trying one. Drew said, " I think you would really like it." This is my fake smile.

NO, most certainly NO, I DID NOT like it. It was cold, the texture would be like me eating a slug, and it tasted like salt water/ and lemon. YUCK.

Our cute little rebel before bed.

Nap time dilemma

Oct 19 2011

I mean how can you get mad at your son, who gets up when he is suppose to be asleep, tears his room apart, only to find his BIG PICTURE STORYBOOK BIBLE, to sit and read. Daddy reads this to him every night, they have actually been through the entire book 4 to 5 times, and well I guess Noah thought he needed another story before naptime.

In other news, Luke has discovered he can pull his toys on his bouncer seat and make a song come on. I love watching him figure things out.

Winner's Circle Park

Oct 16 2011

The new park is Ahhmazing!!!!! It was well worth the wait and the $1.2 million dollars to redo it. It was a little overwhelming for this Momma, like trying to find where's Waldo. Noah would run off so fast. My heart went into panic mode that anyone could snatch him up. Scary!!!! There were so many kids on Sunday. BUT he did have blast. And he did not want to stay in the 2-5 year old area. Oh no he was over in the 5-12 play area every chance he got.

Dedicating Luke

Oct 13 2011

Today we dedicated our son to the Lord, to raise him in a Christian home, to teach him of the sacrifice that God made by sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins and be raised blameless to life again. To model in example for him what the difference between living in the flesh and being set apart. If we teach him nothing else, this would be enough.
